It has been researched and found that orienting a standard 37mm cassette with a 4mm inlet to face "out" from the wearer's body , instead of downwards, allows the sampling of the inhalable ( respirable) fraction of dust.
The work of confirming this finding was done by INRS The National Research Institute of Health, in France.
This holder allows any commonly available 2-piece or 3-piece 37mm cassette open faced or closed, to be held in the correct orientation on the worker's body within the breathing zone.
This device has a fixing clamp designed to keep the cassette to lay flat and not alter its forward facing position, regardless worker normal movements.
It complies with standards NF X43-275 (metals & Metalloids), NF X43-257 (aerosol sampling using "closed" face , with a 4mm orifice) and is compatible for sampling of wood dust.
It can also be used as an area sampler . Accessories to hold the device vertically on a tripod ( also available) are available please request if interested by contacting our support.
A new study is currently in progress at the University of Utah to confirm this finding as well. Results of that study will be published shortly Oct or Nov 2022)
